Until MyIR (My Immunization Record) was developed, patients in West Virginia had to obtain their immunization records from each healthcare provider that had vaccinated them. This is a very time consuming process that can be frustrating. MyIR is a new module within the WV Bureau for Public Health's WV Statewide Immunization Information System (WVSIIS). This module enables patients, who have been given access by their current healthcare provider, the ability to access their full immunization record. It will allow patients, who need to submit immunization records for school, employment, travel and other purposes, to print their immunization records quickly and easily from one location.
Webinar Description and Objectives:
This free, one hour webinar will give healthcare providers an overview of MyIR (My Immunization Record). Additional updates will also be provided by the WV Division of Immunization Services and the West Virginia Immunization Network.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Identify the purpose of MyIR;
Discuss the benefit of MyIR to providers and their patients; and
Describe the steps providers can take to enable their patients to access their family's immunization records.
Jeffrey Neccuzi, Program Manager, Division of Immunization Services, WV Bureau for Public Health
Pam Reynolds, WVSIIS Information Quality Services Coordinator, WV Bureau for Public Health
