PUBLIC & PRIVATE PARTNERS GUIDING PRINCIPLES GOALS, VISION & STRATEGIES UPCOMING TRAININGS & EVENTS

To improve the health of West Virginians, health reform must go beyond federal and state reforms aimed at ensuring affordable health insurance coverage and address the health and community systems changes that will improve health care outcomes and quality of care, and improve the health of our residents who live in rural communities throughout West Virginia.

Building on its 20+ year history of developing innovative solutions to improve health and health care in West Virginia, and given the fundamental changes in the health care environment, the Center for Rural Health Development launched the Institute for Rural Health Improvement in November 2014 to assist rural communities and rural providers consider the tranformative strategies needed to improve the health of community residents and ensure that West Virginia’s rural communities would have appropriate access to a relevant and viable health care delivery system.
