WIN Training Opportunities

Training Description:
The West Virginia Immunization Network (WIN) offers quarterly trainings focused on vaccine-preventable diseases and methods of improving immunization rates. The April 17th training will have two parts: The morning session will introduce participants to “cocooning,” vaccinating adults to protect infants and children from pertussis, and will give them tools to implement a cocooning program in their clinic and offices. The afternoon session will focus on surveillance, prevention, and control aspects of viral hepatitis.

Social Workers - CAMC Health Education and Research Institute is an approved provider of continuing education by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners. This program has been approved for 4 contact hours. Approval number #490045.

Infant Immunization Week
April 21-28, 2012

National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) is an annual observance to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities. Since 1994, NIIW has served as a call to action for parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure that infants are fully immunized against 14 vaccine-preventable diseases.

WIN Annual Immunization Summit
June 13-14, 2012 - Charleston Civic Center

The Annual West Virginia Immunization Summit will be an action-oriented event sponsored by the West Virginia Immunization Network (WIN) targeted toward public and private organizations with an interest in addressing and resolving immunization issues in West Virginia. Various sessions at the Summit will be targeted toward healthcare professionals, public health professionals, business leaders, consumers, and others interested in preventing vaccine-preventable diseases. The Annual WV Immunization Summit convenes yearly to coordinate and collaborate in immunization prevention activities throughout our state. Visit the Immunization Summit homepage for more information.
