The Annual West Virginia Immunization Summit is an action-oriented event targeted toward public and private organizations with an interest in addressing and resolving immunization issues in West Virginia. Various sessions at the Summit will be targeted toward healthcare and public health professionals, educators, business leaders, consumers, and others interested in reducing vaccine-preventable diseases in West Virginia.
Topics to be addressed include:
- HPV Vaccination
- Vaccine Hesitancy
- Viral vs. Bacterial Meninigitis
- Immunizations across the Lifespan
- VPDs: Situations Requiring Immediate Action
- Adolescent Immunization
- Immunization Update for Pharmacists
- Resources for Improving Immunization Rates
Registration: Registration is free, but you must register by June 6, 2012 to attend. To register for the Immunization Summit, please click here for the registration form, then complete and return the registration form to the Center for Rural Health Development.
Continuing Education: CEs will be provided for the following professions: physicians, osteopathic physicians, pharmacists, Certified Health Education Specialists, nurses, social workers, and counselors. Please click here for detailed CE information.
Lodging: A block of rooms is being held until June 4th at the Holiday Inn Express Charleston-Civic Center at a rate of $92 + tax per night for Immunization Summit attendees. The Group Code is: WIS. Call 304-345-0600 to make a reservation.
Adult Immunization Clinic: Hepatitis A & B and Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccines will be offered on June 13th & 14th at the 2012 WV Immunization Summit/KidStrong Conference. If you are not up-to-date on one or both of these immunizations and would like to receive them at the Summit, please note which vaccines you would like to receive at the clinic on your Immunization Summit registration form, then complete this form and bring it with you to the immuization clinic along with a copy of your insurance card.
